The theme of our Fall 2024 issue is Revolution. Defined by duality, revolution is both a break and a return; a cycle and a catalyst; change and circling back. Revolutions encompass our society’s newest ideas and oldest traditions, serving as benchmarks not only of where we have been, but where we are and where we are headed. When practicing revolution through the lens of abolition, they are the potential and promise of dismantling the systems of harm at work in our daily existence. This edition focuses on revolution in all of its capacities—whether political, intellectual, spiritual, personal, or beyond—recognizing it as the mechanism for both rejecting the carceral practices that bind us to injustice and rediscovering the humanity that renders us equals. This is a call to question. To reflect. To act. Now is the time: welcome to the Revolution.
